Getting to Work
All About Your Paycheck
Bi-weekly Payroll Cycle
Generally, you may expect your first paycheck about four weeks after your hire date. Pay is calculated at the end of the first two-week work period, and a check is requested from the Comptroller's Office. Two weeks following the request, payment is distributed to you via a physical paycheck or direct deposit to your financial institution.
Direct Deposits
Until direct deposits take effect, you will receive a physical paycheck. The State Comptroller deposits a penny into your specified account to test the direct deposit information in the first possible paycheck following direct deposit enrollment. After that, your next paycheck will be automatically deposited. Until direct deposits are finalized, checks are mailed on Wednesday of each pay week, therefore it is important that Human Resources has your correct home address.
Keeping Track of Work Attendance
To receive your paycheck, you must track your time using our KRONOS Time and Attendance System.
