Olympus Microscope with SPOT INSIGHT CMOS Camera
This Departmental Microscope is an Olympus BX51 microscope with a mechanical stage. The fluorescent light source is a Prior Lumen 200. The filter set combinations on the microscope are suitable for epifluorescence imaging of DAPI, FITC, Rhodamine, and Texas Red and their comparable AlexaFluors 350, 488, 555, 568, and 594. Brightfield imaging is also available. It has 2.5X, 10X, 20X, and 40X dry objectives and a 100X oil objective. The SPOT camera acquires 2448 x 2048 pixels, 12-bit color images. It is ideally suited for brightfield and bright light fluorescence imaging. The camera has spectral peaks at 488, 530 and 610. SPOT 5.3 software is used for image acquisition and processing.
All NEW users MUST be trained by Dr. Srdjan D. Antic before using the microscope alone without supervision. Use of the microscope is restricted to members of the Neuroscience Department. The primary users are the Antic and Mohan labs. For training or other issues with the microscope, please contact: Dr. Srdjan D. Antic, email: antic@uchc.edu, 860-679-8468, L-3051.
Trained users must sign up on the SharePoint calendar: NEURO-SPOT calendar sign up.
Only trained users are given access to the calendar.
