Why do you love UConn OB/GYN: The people!! The residents genuinely are all good friends and people to have in your inner circle. We make the most of our time off with fun social outings and because our program is so big, there’s always friends around! The faculty are also fantastic – many of them went to UConn for residency and stuck around after graduation. It’s a great community to be a part of!
Favorite thing about CT: Outdoor activities! Plenty of bike trails, spots to kayak and hike. Fantastic ski mountains are just a quick drive up north and the CT shore is only 45 min away.
Who is someone you admire: My grandmother – a Holocaust survivor, family planning physician and single mother in the heart of Brooklyn.
Fun fact: I have two “kittens” that already weigh 11lbs at 6 months old
What is your favorite food? BAGELS BAGELS BAGELS
Small things that make your day great? Mid-day Starbucks breaks, music in the back room, and take-out Thai food while on call!
Favorite show: The Office – I’ve been through the whole series at least 5 times…

Why do you love UConn OB/GYN: I love the variety and diverse training at all 3 clinical sites, amazing teaching faculty, and of course my co-residents.
Favorite thing about Connecticut: West Hartford restaurant happy hours.
Fun fact: We are soon to be a family of 3! I have kept my eyes tightly closed at all ultrasounds, stay tuned to see whether it is a boy or girl!
Hobby would you start if time and money weren’t an issue: I would buy a boat and finally learn how to sail.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you medal in? Devouring charcuterie boards, finding the best guacamole and spicy margaritas in town
What is the best single day in the calendar? April 25th, because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket (name that movie!)

Why do you love UConn OB/GYN: I love my co-residents! I love that we have each other’s backs and are always willing to help each other out. I love that I get to take care of some of the best patients and learn from amazing attendings every day.
Favorite thing about Connecticut: Being near my family and the natural beauty of the state
Skills or talents that most people don't know about: I used to play violin very seriously and studied music at a conservatory in college. I also know how to brew my own beer.
Hobbies: Hiking and being outside. Lately I have been exploring all the amazing nature spots that CT has to offer. I have grown up here but never knew about so many, lots of them are basically in my backyard!
Favorite book: Anything by Joan Didion
How do you relax at the end of the day? Blasting Grateful Dead (thanks mom for teaching me that one…)

Why do you love UConn OB/GYN: The environment here is welcoming and supportive. We are able to receive great training in a variety of subspecialties under the direction of a group of people who truly love to teach and work to make us all better physicians.
Favorite thing about Connecticut: I’m still exploring Connecticut but the woods here in the fall is my favorite thing so far.
Small things that make your day great: Quiet moments on my couch with a book and my two kitties. Conversations with good friends. Being able to learn something new every day.

Why do you love UConn OB/GYN: The people! From the residents, to attendings, to administrators, everyone here wants nothing but for us to succeed and be happy doing so!
Favorite thing about Connecticut: Tons of nearby things to do - hiking, river, ocean, and other states are just a few hours’ drive!
Fun fact: My husband is an Emergency Medicine chief and we had our son, Micah, during intern year! We also have a German shepherd, Bunny.
Small things that make your day great: Hearing my baby laugh and seeing him reach for me when I get home, big hugs from loved ones, delivering babies, mastering something new in the OR, hearing a patient say thank you for taking care of them
Claim to fame: I was the high kick master in high school when I danced on drill team (I’m from Texas, y’all. It’s a thing there.)
Something that everyone should do at least once: Move away from home, at least for a bit- I did it for medical school and now residency, and I have grown so much in the past 6 years because of it.
What are you passionate about at work? Learning something new every day while getting to help women. I love everything about OBGYN, from labor and delivery, to clinic, to GYN surgeries, and even postpartum rounds where I can help moms feel more confident with breastfeeding.

Why do you love UConn OB/GYN: I think we get excellent surgical and obstetric training, I love the faculty we work with, the variety of practice styles we are exposed to, and most of all I love the community of residents here!
Favorite thing about Connecticut: I love fall in New England- Leaf peeping, apple picking, cider drinking, and bonfire making are the best here.
Hobby would you start if time and money weren’t an issue: I would go to Southeast Asia and eat as much pho, pad Thai, and ramen I could get my hands on.
Small things that make your day great: A quiet moment to drink coffee or tea, catching up with my family and friends over FaceTime, when a great song comes on in the car.
How do you relax at the end of the day? I hang with my kitty lil Minnie, read, walk at the reservoir, or meditate.
Something that everyone should do at least once: Get to know people in a community that is different from where they are from. Climb to the top of a tall mountain!

Hobby would you start if time and money weren’t an issue? I have traveled to many countries around the world and have lived in Sivas, Turkey as well as Nairobi, Kenya for research. I studied in Segovia, Spain for a semester in college as well. If I weren’t on a resident schedule, I would continue to travel the world and become better at photography (ok pre-COVID clearly not in 2020). I would also love to learn to sew!
Small things that make your day great? Coffee! It makes every day better. Ideally time to slowly sip coffee with a good true crime podcast on. And seeing my cat every day, pets are such a great stress reliever. That healing purr…
