Favorite thing about Connecticut: There are many different types of outdoor activities are in our backyard or just a short drive away. Also, all the great restaurants and breweries.
Fun fact: I grew up with 5 dogs
Small things that make your day great: Our amazing nurses and staff, free lunch Friday, quick call room catch-ups with my co-residents in between cases, labor and delivery coffee runs, night float ice cream runs to the children’s hospital.

Why do you love UConn OB/GYN: Although it may seem intimidating at first, getting to train in a large program across three sites truly makes for a well-rounded experience. Not only are the patient populations different, but also the practice models and culture differ as well. Part of residency is determining what type of OBGYN you would like to become, and there is no shortage of supportive mentors here at UConn!
Favorite thing about Connecticut: Connecticut has an ideal location - close to major cities like New York and Boston, while also near the beaches of Rhode Island and the slopes in Vermont.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you medal in? Hula-hooping. I once hula-hooped for 3hrs nonstop in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record…until I discovered the record was on a scale of days not hours…
How do you relax at the end of the day? When in doubt, a quick yoga session will always help me unwind, clear my head, and let go of the stresses of the day.
Most interesting place you’ve been: El Alhambra in Granada, Spain – the architecture and history are incredible.

Why do you love UConn OB/GYN: After coming here knowing no one, my class has become like a family. The friendships I have made here both with fellow-residents and faculty will last long after we part after graduation.
Favorite thing about Connecticut: There are endless outdoor activities. There are great trails for hiking and biking in the warmer months and easy access to ski slopes in the cooler months.
Hobbies: I love a good hike, and have been doing a lot of this in the time of social distancing. Every day I am off my husband and I along with our dog, Shiloh, have been finding new trails in our area. I love to find a nice quiet spot to put up a hammock and read a good book.
Favorite food: I love soup (no matter what time of year). One of my favorite things to do is make a soup from random things I find in my refrigerator. This has been useful living in a much colder climate than I am used to.
Favorite show: When I need to relax I love to watch The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. Sometimes I paint “happy little clouds” along with him.

Favorite food: Pasta! My mom makes the best homemade pasta sauce that I could eat every single day.
What is the best single day in the calendar? Christmas! I love all aspects of the holiday season. In fact, I was engaged at a Christmas tree farm and my husband and I married a few days after Christmas.

Why do you love UConn OB/GYN: The people!! All the attendings, co-residents, nurses, and staff at all of our hospitals and clinical sites are fun and supportive and so excited about our education.
Favorite thing about Connecticut: Weekend getaways are so easy because of the close proximity to the shore, mountains, and big cities
Small things that make your day great: Starbucks at 2/3 of the hospitals, “star tots” from children’s hospital, running into co-residents around the hospital who are on different services

How do you relax at the end of the day? Going home and spending a few hours with my husband, our two kitties (Piper and Gus) and our golden retriever (Finnegan)

Fun fact: My husband is an Ortho resident at Yale. Ask our 2.5 year old daughter what her favorite surgery is. Depending on her mood she will say "Total hip or Hysterectomy"
Hobby would you start if time and money weren’t an issue: I would start Salsa dancing again.
Small things that make your day great: Hanging out with my co-residents and amazing attendings, Connecticut Children's star tots, chatting with the L&D nurses, coming home to my daughter Emma and husband David.
