CAHC is the organization responsible for the administration of the salary and benefits for all the residency training programs. As such, CAHC is the official employer of all the residents and fellows. The staff of CAHC works closely with the members of the GME office to ensure that the pay and benefits are of the highest level and quality.The GME office is responsible for coordinating activities with the Capital Area Health Consortium (CAHC) regarding employment issues. Additional activities include assisting international graduates in obtaining appropriate visas, keeping permanent training records on residents, providing the appropriate state agencies with a list of all residents employed, notifying hospitals and other health care institutions of the names of all residents and supporting the individual departments in carrying out the responsibilities of conducting graduate medical education programs.
