Office of Graduate Medical Education Finance

The UConn School of Medicine Office of GME Finance is responsible for overseeing resident, fellow, and program support for all sponsored training programs. Various support levels are recommended by the Capital Area Health Consortium (CAHC) with final approval by the UConn School of Medicine Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC). Below are some tools, background information, and links to policies currently in place to allow us to adhere to the various support levels generously provided by our CAHC hospitals.

Graduate Medical Education Travel

UConn residents receive travel support in accordance with the Resident/Fellow Policies and Procedures Manual. Prior to departure, a travel authorization must be completed and sent to the GME office for approval. Below are the two forms that can be utilized to support GME funded travel.

GME Travel Authorization: Use this form for all resident, fellow, and non-UConn employees

UConn Health Travel Authorization: Use this form for all UConn salaried employees

Educational Resource Allowance

UConn residents and fellows are eligible for educational support funds to reimburse them for qualified educational purchases in accordance with the Resident/Fellows Policies and Procedures Manual.

Prior approval should be received from their program coordinator or the director of GME Finance.
