Rotations – First Year

Intern Enrichment

Begin your three years of training by immersing in four weeks of experience rich with workshops, orientation and opportunities to bond with your classmates, faculty, staff and other residents.

FMIS

Your experience in hospital medicine begins right away during three separate rotations on our own service. Admit and care for a wide spectrum of hospitalized patients and learn and develop the basic skills necessary to care for a panel of your own patients under the supervision of senior house staff and attendings.

Health Systems Management

This three year longitudinal experience begins with a block of HSM1. The first year focuses on patient care of your own panel, population health, the basics of billing and coding and participating in our practice management meetings.

Inpatient Pediatrics

Join a busy inpatient team for state of the art teaching at Connecticut children’s Medical Center in downtown Hartford.

Outpatient Pediatrics

Enhance your pediatric experience in a busy pediatric facility in the north end of Hartford (Burgdorf Primary Care Center).

Obstetrics

Work alongside St. Francis Hospital OB/GYN residents and faculty on the 617 beds, 65 bassinettes community based teaching hospital. After completing 2 rotations begin to follow your own FM prenatal patients and deliver the babies with our own FM attendings!

Newborn/NICU

Learn to address the common problems of the newborn period by rotating through the Newborn/NICU department in the hospital.

ICU

Learn alongside the Internal medicine colleagues supervised by an awesome pulmonology/intensivist teaching staff in the Saint Francis Critical Care Unit.
