Divisions – Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery

UConn Health is now designated as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology.

Dr. Danielle Luciano leads the group of surgeons, nurses and clinical support staff who helped UConn Health earn this distinction.

The MIGS/REI rotation is based at UConn Health and is designed to educate obstetrics and gynecology residents in advanced benign minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Residents will acquire the advanced minimally invasive skills that will allow them to treat many complex gynecologic conditions with a focus on FLS (Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery) training with the MIGS fellow. The rotation centers around reproductive surgery involving fertility promoting and fertility sparing treatment of endometriosis, uterine myoma, uterine anomalies, and adnexal diseases. The rotation will also allow for the opportunity to advance the fellows skills in gynecologic ultrasound specifically in 3D imaging for preoperative evaluation/diagnosis of patients.
