- The Wilderness Medicine Track consists of a three-year longitudinal curriculum, integrated with the ABEM Core Emergency Medicine curriculum.
- The track would incorporate training of expert educators, provide graduates who are competent and knowledgeable in core content, provide extensive direct experience in skills related to wilderness medicine and related fields, and would allow for the opportunity to earn designation as a Fellow in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) or to earn a Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM).
- The curriculum content would include wilderness medicine topics from the ABEM Core Curriculum divided over 3 years as well as wilderness medicine specific topics such as expedition medicine, wilderness survival, wilderness medical kits, basics of search and rescue, and avalanche preparedness and ski injuries.
