Our program embraces diversity and is dedicated to having a fellowship and work environment with people from all different backgrounds and views. We are accepting of all, regardless of ethnicity, race, age, genders, preferred pronouns, sexual orientations, religions, or political affiliations. We all believe that being culturally competent is essential for patient care and growth as a medical community and strive to include this in our education. During the three years, fellows will have the opportunity to participate in supplementary education on equity and diversity. With the help of the University of Connecticut, we are proud to offer the University of Connecticut Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leadership Track (DEI) which is a multidisciplinary curriculum. Below, you can find information on this track. There are also many opportunities to get involved with quality improvement projects and health disparities research in collaboration with the internal medicine clinics at Hartford Hospital.
