Dermatology Program Director Statement on 2020-21 Application Cycle

Thank you for your interest in the UConn Dermatology Residency Program.

Our program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Applications will only be reviewed if the applicant is enrolled in these 2 programs. Applicants are required to register with these two organizations: students-residents.aamc.org/applying-residency/applying-residencies-eras/ and www.nrmp.org.

We will not be accepting any more applications for July 1, 2021 entry.

We will be accepting applications via ERAS effective the first day ERAS opens in September 2020 thru midnight Thursday, November 1, 2020.

Applications and supplemental information that is requested WILL NOT be accepted after that date.

We will be holding interviews Wednesday, January 8, 2020 (1 date only) for 3 (three) PGY2 positions for entry on July 1, 2021.

We are accredited to match 3 (three) residents per year.

The following are all required as part of your application.

  • An official medical school transcript
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement
  • Medical school performance evaluations
  • USMLE examination scores (Parts 1 and 2,¬†all parts must be passed on first attempt. If you have already taken Step 3, you must pass on first attempt as well.)

Only J-1 visas are accepted by The University of Connecticut School of Medicine for those candidates who are not permanent residents.
