Cardio-Oncology is an evolving field which involves the cardiovascular treatment of patients with active cancer and those who have previously undergone treatment with chemotherapeutic agents. The Cardio-Oncology program at the Hartford Heart and Vascular Institute has received a center of excellence certification from the International Cardio-Oncology Society (IC-OS) at the gold level, the highest award the organization can give. Fellows will have the ability to spend elective time, both inpatient and outpatient with our expert cardio-oncologist to gain a more holistic approach and understanding of the cardiovascular management of cancer patients.
