Family Medicine Residency Program

As of September 1, 2025, the UConn School of Medicine was selected by Manchester Memorial Hospital as its new sponsor for its family medicine training program. UConn School of Medicine is a leader in graduate medical education in Connecticut and is among the largest sponsors of GME in the country, ranking in size among the nation's top 10 percentile. UConn is home to robust 80-plus residency training programs annually training over 800 physicians and surgeons.

The mission of the UConn-sponsored Family Medicine Residency Program at Manchester Memorial Hospital remains to train outstanding, capable, conscientious full-spectrum family physicians through innovative and evidence-based educational curriculum in a patient-centered medical home. The residents we train will be leaders in their community, providing care to underserved patients throughout New England.

Welcome to the UConn Family Medicine Residency Program at Manchester Memorial Hospital!

Our mission is to provide the best educational environment and experience to prepare residents to be highly skilled family physicians to better serve our community.

Throughout their training at the UConn Family Medicine Residency Program at Manchester Memorial Hospital, our residents are given extensive learning opportunities in both inpatient and outpatient medicine, preparing them to practice the full spectrum of family medicine after graduation. In addition to strengthening their clinical skills our residents participate in research, along with leadership and committee roles, within our training program and throughout the entire Manchester Memorial Hospital organization.

We are proud to have a talented, motivated and compassionate group of residents, staff and faculty who will make your time here feel like home. We are enthusiastic about the future of Family Medicine and see the need for family physicians to fill the role as medical leaders in the communities they serve at both the local and national level.
