Fellows receive feedback and provide feedback throughout their training.
Fellows are evaluated by faculty after every rotation with that feedback immediately available via MyEvaluations, our online evaluation management program. We also solicit feedback from nurses and patients in the pediatric emergency department.
The PEM Clinical Competency Committee meets quarterly and evaluates all fellows semi-annually on their development along the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Milestones.
Fellows have in-person formal reviews with the Program Directory twice a year.
Fellows have multiple opportunities to evaluate and provide feedback on the fellowship program and faculty. Fellows are invited to evaluate all outside rotations on completion of the rotation. Fellows and Faculty complete the Annual ACGME Survey. In addition all PEM Fellows and Faculty complete our own internal anonymous annual fellowship program evaluation. Also on an annual basis fellows anonymously evaluate all PEM Faculty members, with the Program Director summarizing that feedback and providing it to faculty members.
Senior fellows serve as members of the PEM fellowship’s Program Evaluation Committee.
