Diversity and inclusion are foundational elements of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine educational programs. Our goal for our fellowship program is to foster a professional, and respectful environment free from discrimination, harassment, mistreatment, abuse, or coercion. Consistent with this focus we pursue diversity in all its varied expressions, including but not limited to, gender, race, ethnicity, physical ability, sexual orientation, and gender identity; with the goal of providing an educational environment that fosters the success of learners who are representative of the population of Connecticut, and a clinical environment that provides high quality healthcare. In our Cancer Program at UConn Health Dr. Omar Ibrahim, leader of Thoracic Oncology, serves as our Diversity Champion and a resource for our learners and faculty for any concerns or opportunities.
