Application Information

The University of Connecticut Hand Surgery Fellowship is a one year, ACGME accredited program. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand.

Applicants must have completed primary specialty training in an accredited residency in orthopaedics, plastic surgery, or general surgery. Applicants should register with the NRMP, as the University of Connecticut Hand Surgery Fellowship participates in the matching program.

Applications should be submitted through the ASSH online submission platform.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • Universal Hand Application
  • CV
  • Personal Statement
  • ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Passport sized photograph
  • USMLE scores Steps 1, 2 and 3
  • Must have completed at least five years in an ACGME accredited residency
  • We accept applications from U.S. citizens, U.S. residents and J-1 visa holders

No.

How many fellowship positions do you have?

We have two ACGME accredited clinical positions. We also have a non-accredited research position for candidates that have completed our fellowship.

How many applicants do you interview?

Around 35 to 40 applicants.

Do you participate in the NRMP?

Yes. Our NRMP program code is 1094263F0.
