Assessment and Brief Counseling
We recognize that every family is unique. Our assessment process helps us tailor recommendations that are designed to support family functioning and strengthen family bonds.
Referrals
If needed, referrals are provided to professionals and other resources trained to support adoptive and guardianship families.
Case Management
Case management services connect families to community-based resources and provide advocacy and ongoing assessment of need.
Information and Education
We offer workshops and trainings for parents, mental health professionals, and educators, as well as recommended books and other resources. We are also happy to provide informational sessions about our program to groups and agencies.
Support Groups
The AAP offers monthly supports groups for adoptive parents and guardians. We also offer a virtual teen adoptee group periodically throughout the year. Call us for more information about either group.
“The AAP social worker listened, understood and thoughtfully discussed matters. She explained therapeutic options and directed our family to an excellent provider. We have had amazing results. She followed up and gave us more information, forever making our family unit amazingly better. By far, AAP is the best adoption assistance program we’ve encountered.” – Adoptive Parent
