Steven Whiting, M.D.
Dr. Steven Whiting grew up in Minnesota. In 2001, he was living in El Salvador when there was a large earthquake. During that time, he did some translating work for a team of doctors from the Air Force. Because of that experience, he decided to go in to medicine. For his undergraduate education he attended Brigham Young University and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Biology. He then went to the Medical College of Wisconsin and graduated in 2010. Dr. Whiting completed his emergency medicine residency at University of Arizona South Campus in Tucson in 2013. He has spent the last 12 years working at Summit Healthcare in Show Low, AZ. During that time, he engaged in regular international volunteer work with various organizations. Because of these experiences, he found his niche and wanted to make that more of a fulltime part of my career. He has found what he was looking for in the International Disaster Medicine Fellowship here at UConn.
