Frequently Asked Questions

Does your institution sponsor H1B visas?

Unfortunately, since this fellowship is not an ACGME accredited program, UConn cannot sponsor any visas for this clinical trials fellowship.

When is your deadline?

Our deadline is April 15 of the current year.

Is there a cut off of USMLE scores?

It’s unlikely we’ll consider applicants with scores under 200. You also must pass all steps on the first attempt.

How important is research for applying to your program?

Internally, when we screen applications, we use a broad concept of academic potential. We seek candidates who have the potential to be academic dermatologists if they so decide. Prior research is not an absolute criterion for selection to be interviewed, but it’s the surest way to display one’s academic potential.

How many applicants do you accept yearly?

We accept one applicant every year.

When do you start reviewing applications?

Application reviews begin after January 1 of the current year.

When do you start the interviewing process?

The interviews takes place between April and the beginning of May.
