For UConn and External (non-UConn/UCHC) REDCap Users
For login issues, please see the troubleshooting remedies below:
- Make sure you are using the correct username and password for the system you are logging into – as your development and production system accounts may have differing credentials.
- Do not copy and paste your credentials into the REDCap login boxes. Your user ID and password must be typed in.
- Your network credentials are case-sensitive. Check the basics such as cap lock or number lock issues.
- If you have attempted to log in 3 times incorrectly, your account will be temporarily locked, and you will need to wait 5 mins to try again.
- If you are logging in from outside the UConn Health network, then please be sure you have the DUO 2FA set on your phone and that you can respond to the push notification.
- If your phone is set to do not disturb, then it is likely that you will not receive notifications from the app. You will need to use one of the following links for directions on how to allow the app notifications: Limit interruptions with Do Not Disturb on Android – Android Help or Allow or silence notifications for a Focus on iPhone – Apple Support.
To reset your password, click the “forgot your password” on the REDCap login page – the password reset link should work as long as you are entering the correct username – if the username is associated with an authentic REDCap account, an email containing a link for resetting their password will be sent to the primary email address associated with that REDCap account. You must click on the link in that email and set a new password. NOTE: Resetting your password on one system, does NOT reset your password on the other (i.e., resetting your password on the Production system, does NOT reset your password on the Development system, and vice versa). Thus, you may end up with differing passwords for each of the systems.
As a reminder, your password is automatically deactivated every 90 days for security purposes.
If you have not logged into your account in over 180 days, your account is automatically suspended – you will receive a notification via email when this occurs. You will need to have your account unsuspended before you can reset your password.
- For UConn Users, please contact us at redcap@uchc.edu and let us know which account you need to have unsuspended (development or production). Once we have processed your request, you will receive an email with your username and link to reset your password.
- For External (non-UConn/UCHC) Users, your sponsor (i.e., your UConn/UCHC PI) needs to request that your account be unsuspended and password reset. They can do so directly via their REDCap Production Sponsor Dashboard and REDCap Development Sponsor Dashboard.
