Comprehensive Spine Center
As part of The Brain and Spine Institute, the Comprehensive Spine Center at UConn Health offers patients a collaborative approach to spine care with neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, physical therapists, and pain management experts working together to alleviate your pain and get you back to life faster. Cranial Neurosurgery
The UConn Health Division of Neurosurgery’s partnership with The Brain and Spine Institute provides world-class neurosurgical treatments for the full spectrum of neurological conditions. By providing unparalleled excellence in compassionate clinical care tailored for individual patients, we provide state-of-the-art treatment now and are shaping the future treatment of neurological disorders.
Neurology
Our team of neurologists works hand-in-hand with expert surgeons to provide you with the best treatment you can only find at The Brain and Spine Institute. The Department of Neurology offers a comprehensive array of clinical services and subspecialties that combine the best medical evidence with the latest technology to provide patient-centered care and peace of mind for your family. Our dedicated faculty, staff, and residents provide acute and ongoing care in the inpatient and outpatient settings. We treat disorders of the brain, peripheral nerves, and muscles, including stroke, seizures, dementia, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, headache, neuropathy, neuromuscular diseases, and neurocritical illness.
Radiology
As a patient of The Brain and Spine Institute, you have access to world-class experts in imaging. Our Department of Radiology offers diagnostic and interventional services using state-of-the-art equipment and advanced imaging techniques, including fMRI, spectroscopy, and perfusion imaging. Our new Center for Interventional Neuroradiology allows patients with spine pain to be treated percutaneously, avoiding surgery and opioids. The combined expertise of neurosurgery and neuroradiology is used to carry out the novel technique of mechanical thrombectomy to save stroke patients from crippling disabilities.
