Fellow Well-Being

Much as we seek to support the well-being of patients (and their families) in mind, body and spirit, we strongly believe clinicians should also strive to live lives that attend to their own personal physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

UConn School of Medicine Palliative Care Fellowship Program is committed to supporting the well-being of our fellows during their training program. For a full list of resources offered through UConn Health, the Capital Area Health Consortium and the broader community, please visit the Graduate Medical Education Office Well-Being website.

We have a fantastic team who care deeply for our patients and for each other. We invest in keeping the team feeling supported and valued. We want you to find the work of palliative care meaningful and to feel valued and supported in doing that work – even on the more difficult days. Our team has several practices that we feel encourage a healthy team dynamic.

  • Annual retreat
  • Fellows welcome dinner
  • Quarterly social gatherings (at local establishment)
  • Celebrating birthdays, accomplishments, and major life events for team members
