Dear Fellowship Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in the UConn Nephrology Fellowship Program. The Division of Nephrology in the Department of Medicine at UConn Health and affiliated hospitals offer an ACGME-accredited two-year clinical fellowship for individuals wishing to prepare for a career in nephrology.
The Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Connecticut offers a comprehensive and immersive training experience focused on developing clinical expertise, academic excellence, and procedural skills. With a strong emphasis on teaching, fellows receive hands-on mentorship from faculty, ensuring a deep understanding of both core nephrology and the latest advancements in the field. A unique aspect of the fellowship is the robust training in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), equipping fellows with vital diagnostic skills in bedside renal assessments. Additionally, the program offers extensive experience in therapeutic plasmapheresis, providing exposure to cutting-edge treatments for complex kidney disorders. Fellows also encounter rare and intriguing conditions such as Fabry disease, pregnancy-related kidney diseases, and glomerulonephritides.
The fellowship fosters a collaborative learning environment, blending practical skills with academic rigor to prepare fellows for leadership roles in nephrology.
