Goals and Objectives

The goal of the Movement Disorders Fellowship at UConn Health – Hartford HealthCare is to train eligible neurologists to gain subspecialty expertise in the care and management of patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and other movement disorders. Graduates of the program will serve to advance the science and understanding of movement disorders and become leaders in the field.

Fellows who complete the program will acquire expertise in the selection, intra-operative monitoring and programming of deep brain stimulation (DBS) patients. DBS patients will be followed by our attendings and fellows, allowing regular DBS system analysis and troubleshooting.

Our dystonia and botulinum toxin clinics will train fellows in the best techniques and doses for the management of common neurological conditions, such as dystonia, spasticity, hemifacial spasms, and sialorrhea, among others.

We are committed to provide you with an excellent education in the diagnosis, prognosis and management of patients with movement disorders. We strive to make your year an enjoyable learning experience.
