Institutional Curriculum

The Institutional Curriculum (IC) is comprised of a series of live events and online courses that address educational and clinical work environment requirements.

Online courses are offered through HealthStream and through the American Medical Association (AMA) GME Competency Education Program. Live Events

Incoming residents/fellows are required to attend GME Orientation in person. A recording of the session will be assigned in HealthStream for residents/fellows who are unable to attend in person.

  • GME Orientation Day One full day which includes, but is not limited to, addressing the following topics:
    • Managing Discrimination and Harassment From Patients, Families, and Guests (30 min)
    • Introduction to Healthcare Disparities (30 min)
    • Residents as Educators (60 min)

Incoming Courses

HealthStream and AMA GME Competency Education Program courses must be completed before residents/fellows can begin training. (Approximately 11 hours to complete all courses.)
