Evan Magaliff, M.D.
Anesthesiology Track

Dr. Evan Magaliff is currently completing his Anesthesiology residency at the University of Connecticut, where he has developed strong interests in cardiac anesthesiology, critical care medicine, global health, healthcare informatics, and medical education. He brings a unique background in computer science, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement, including ongoing work to improve difficult-airway communication across perioperative and critical care teams.

Dr. Taj Rai is currently completing his Emergency Medicine residency at Riverside University Health System in California where he has been recognized for his clinical excellence, professionalism, and patient- and family-centered communication. He is the first fellow to join our ACCM Fellowship from the West Coast, bringing a strong background in emergency medicine, resuscitation, procedural care, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Anesthesiology Track

Dr. Lucas Luong completed his Anesthesiology residency at the University of Connecticut, where he served as Chief Resident. He is the first Anesthesiology resident to join our ACCM Fellowship and the first dual (Cardiac Anesthesia and Critical Care) fellowship candidate in our program. His research focuses on the impact of propofol sedation on outcomes in mechanically ventilated septic patients.

Dr. Jacob Dolins completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Connecticut, where he served as Chief Resident for his class. His interests in critical care developed through his work in the Emergency Critical Care Unit and through leadership roles in simulation, curriculum development, and resident education.

Autumn Bass, D.O.

Dr. Autumn Bass is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician who completed her residency at the University of South Florida, where she served as Chief Resident. She went on to complete the Emergency Medicine Critical Care & Resuscitation Fellowship at Hartford Hospital before joining our ACCM Fellowship Program. Her academic interests include point of-care ultrasound, resuscitation science, and systems-based approaches to critical care delivery.

Thomas Latosek, M.D.
Thomas Latosek, M.D.

Dr. Thomas Latosek completed his Emergency Medicine residency at UConn, where his early career as a paramedic shaped his strong interest in surgical critical care and trauma. He is dedicated to multidisciplinary resuscitation and the development of critical care transport systems. Dr. Latosek was the first physician to be offered a position in our ACCM Fellowship program.

Jessica Aviles
Jessica Aviles, M.D.
EMCC Track

Dr. Jessica Aviles completed her Emergency Medicine residency at UConn, where she served as Chief Resident. She subsequently joined the faculty at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and served as Clerkship Director at Quinnipiac University. She is the first fellow in our ACCM Fellowship Program, with interests in simulation-based education and procedural training. Dr. Aviles is joining Emory Healthcare in Atlanta as a faculty in late 2026.
