Video Teleconferencing

Video Teleconferencing is now available to UConn Health faculty and staff to host virtual-live meetings, sessions, and events.

We strongly encourage our UConn Health faculty and staff who wish to host a virtual-live CME activity, to utilize the institution’s services that are made available to them through our office of Academic Information Technology Services at UConn Health.

Academic Information Technology Services now offers for UConn Health faculty and staff:

UConn Zoom

Zoom is an online conferencing tool you can use anywhere you have Internet access on your electronic device. If you can get online, you can meet with others and share data, presentations, and online demonstrations. With Zoom, you can bring guest speakers into your classrooms, hold virtual office hours, provide one-on-one tutorials or host webinars with a large audience, and much more. Zoom lectures or meetings can be recorded and uploaded into Blackboard courses. Zoom is now available to all UConn Health/UConn employees.

  • Zoom meeting license supports up to a 300 participants/meeting.
  • Users can request a large meeting of up to 1000 participants or a webinar up to 500 participants. To request a large meeting or webinar, please click below. (Note: You must already have already requested a Zoom account to use this feature)
  • These Zoom accounts are available to faculty and staff only. They are not available to students at this time.
  • This Zoom service is strictly for academic (research & education)/administration use only. Clinical use is not permitted.
  • Licenses available to UConn Health employees (for non clinical use) free of charge.
  • A fee of $25 per license, per year is assessed on accounts issued to faculty and staff at the Storrs and regional campuses.

UConn Webex

WebEx is an online conferencing tool you can use anywhere you have Internet access on your electronic device. If you can get online, you can meet with others and share data, presentations, and online demonstrations. With WebEx, you can bring guest speakers into your classrooms, hold virtual office hours, provide one-on-one tutorials or host webinars with a large audience, and much more. WebEx lectures or meetings can be recorded and uploaded into Blackboard courses.

WebEx is now available to everyone with a NetID. Please refer to step-by-step instructions on how to use WebEx to host or participate in a meeting.

  • Supports up to a 1000 participants/meeting.
  • Supports Internet-based audio calls (Voice Over IP -VOIP) and calls made from a phone linbeis supported
  • Support Collaboration Meeting Room (CMR) to allow video conference systems to dial into your WebEx meetings.
  • Supports recording of meeting.
