REDCap User Eligibility

REDCap accounts are available to all University of Connecticut and UConn Health faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students for research-related purposes.

External user accounts will be given to non-UConn/non-UCH users via sponsorship by their UConn/UCH Principal Investigator (PI). On the application, they need to identify their UCH/UConn PI. We will then create an external account for them, which is linked to the PI’s account (thus, the PI must already have a REDCap account). External users will not have the ability to create new projects as this would violate our licensing agreement with Vanderbilt University Medical Center. External users can only access projects to which they are formally added to.

All REDCap users are required to use an institutional email address – NO personal email addresses (Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) are acceptable. No generic or multi-user accounts can be granted.

All REDCap users must complete CITI training (UConn / UCH) and any applicable HIPAA training. All REDCap users must also complete the Introductory Overviews, Basic Features & Functionality, and Project Types video training modules (approximately 1 hour) before using REDCap. All users are encouraged to review additional REDCap training materials as needed.

Once you have completed the training modules, to request access to REDCap, please complete and submit the REDCap Account Request.

*Please note that the REDCap Systems are not linked to each other, and separate accounts will be created for both the Development (test/sandbox) and Production system environments.
