Well-Being Index

Well Being Index Header

The Well-Being Index is a validated self-assessment tool designed to measure well-being, predict risk of distress, and provide resources to residents and fellows who utilize the tool. The Office of Graduate Medical education will ask all residents and fellows to utilize the Well-Being Index tool twice per academic year, once in the summer and once in the late winter. In addition to these two campaigns, the tool is available for use anytime a resident or fellow wishes to self-assess their well-being.

To create a Well-Being Index account and to sign up for the Well-Being Index app, please see the information below.

Why should I participate?

Your anonymous participation will provide critical insight for UConn Health to understand the well-being of our residents / fellows and create action plans to address the factors contributing to distress. After the first assessment period, we will share a summary of the results and next steps.

How is it anonymous?

As a user, you can rest assured that your account is secure and anonymous. Individual responses, scores, and data will never be identifiable by UConn Health.

To help us gauge the overall well-being of our residents / fellows, the Well-Being Index provides anonymous reports with de-identified aggregate data of all submissions displayed as an average or percentage only when the sample size is large enough. In addition, all Well-Being Index data is automatically stored in secure cloud servers owned by the Well-Being Index which adhere to the same cybersecurity and HIPAA Protections as electronic health records.

We want to ensure that we can all assess our well-being honestly and without fear of repercussions, and provide accurate feedback so that our leaders have the information they need to make real positive change in our institutions.
