The PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at UConn Health is customized to the individual resident each year, based on goals, interests, experiences, and postgraduate pursuits.
Residents are required to complete longitudinal experiences in:
- Orientation*
- Adult Medicine
- Anticoagulation Service
- Neurology
- Infectious Diseases/HIV
- Medication Therapy Management
- Population Health
- Specialty Pharmacy
- Practice Management
- Clinical Service Project
- Leadership/Personal Professional Development (PPD)
- Teaching and Education
- Research
*All required rotations are longitudinal with the exception of Orientation.
Residents will have the option of the following elective experiences to complete as blocks:
- Academia
- Ambulatory Oncology
- Pain/Palliative Care
- Inpatient Operations
Residents will also have additional longitudinal experiences, including:
- IRB-approved research project to be presented at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and/or an additional major/mid-major conference
- Clinical service project and cumulative business plan
- Leadership and PPD work/life balance and leadership development series
- UConn School of Pharmacy Teaching Certificate
