Achilles Tendonopathy
Achilles tendonopathy is a condition that causes pain, swelling, and stiffness in the Achilles tendon, a strong fibrous cord that connects the muscles in the back of your calf to your heel bone. It is an overuse injury that is common in runners and those who participate in sports that require a lot of jumping.
Symptoms
The pain is slow in onset and eventually becomes too painful for exercise. Patients should seek treatment when pain begins to avoid rupture of the tendon.
