REDCap Login Help for UConn Health Users
For UCH users, your REDCap login (username and password) is the same as your institutional login and cannot be reset by the REDCap team or by using the “Forgot your password?” link. The REDCap password reset link is only for non-UConn Health users.
Troubleshooting Steps
If you are having trouble logging in, try the steps below in order:
- Activate your REDCap account (new users only).
- If you recently created your REDCap account and have never logged in before, confirm you have
completed activation. - You must click the verification link sent to your email before you can log in. Activation is required separately for Development and Production.

- Confirm your username and password.
- Make sure you are entering the correct institutional username and password.
- Type your credentials (do not copy and paste).
- Your user ID and password must be typed into the REDCap login fields.
- Check case sensitivity and keyboard settings.
- Network credentials are case-sensitive.
- Check whether Caps Lock or Num Lock is enabled.
- Check whether your UConn Health password has expired.
- You can test this by rebooting your work computer.
- If you recently changed your UConn Health password, reboot your computer.
- After rebooting, try logging in to REDCap again.
- Account lockout (three failed attempts).
- If you enter incorrect credentials three times, your account is temporarily locked.
- Wait 5 minutes and then try again.
- Test your institutional login on another UConn Health service.
- Try signing in to one of the services below using the same credentials:
- If you cannot log in to any UConn Health service, your account may be locked or your password may have expired. Please contact the UConn Health IT Service Desk: (860) 679-4400.
- Duo two-factor authentication (2FA) for off-network access.
- If you are logging in from outside the UConn Health network, make sure Duo 2FA is set up on your phone.
- You must be able to respond to the Duo push notification.
- For Duo assistance, contact the UConn Health IT Service Desk: (860) 679-4400.
- Do Not Disturb / Focus mode may block Duo notifications.
- If your phone is set to Do Not Disturb or Focus mode, you may not receive push notifications.
