Academic Information Technology Services (AITS) provides access to four high-speed black-and-white printers for curricular use by undergraduate medical and dental students. Your laptop is pre-configured with the necessary print queues—just select the nearest printer when you're ready to print.
Printer Locations:
- Printer 3 (\\PRINTVM4\AITS-Printer-B16): Classrooms B16/B17
- Printer 4 (\\PRINTVM4\AITS-Printer-Rotunda): Academic Rotunda Study Carrels
- Printer 1 (\\PRINTVM5\AITS-Printer-Shafer) : Shafer Study Rooms. Accessible with student ID badge.
- Printer 2 (\\PRINTVM5\AITS-Printer-Lounge): Student Lounge. Accessible with student ID badge.
These printers are available 24/7 for your convenience. While printing is free of charge, usage is monitored to prevent excessive printing and to ensure compliance with copyright laws.
Printing Instructions:
Please note that we have transitioned from the Pharos print service to a new printing system.
To add the AITS printer queues to your laptop, follow these steps:
- Make sure your device is connected to UConn Health’s secure Wi-Fi or wired network.
- Add printers from PRINTVM5:

- Open File Explorer (folder icon).
- In the address bar, type: \\PRINTVM5 and press Enter.
- In the search box, type AITS.Double-click on the two AITS printers that appear.
This will install the necessary drivers and add the queues to your laptop.

- Add printers from PRINTVM4:
- While still in File Explorer, type: \\PRINTVM4 and press Enter.
- Again, search for AITS if more than two printers appear.
- Double-click on each AITS printer to install the drivers and add the queues.
Once all print queues have been added, you can choose any of them directly when printing from your device.
