Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant

I was born and raised in Hillsdale, New Jersey. I received my bachelor’s degree in health science with a double minor in biomedical sciences and microbiology & immunology at Quinnipiac University.

I worked as a volunteer EMT in both New Jersey and Connecticut, and I’ve volunteered at both the Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp and at Sunrise Day Camp. At the camps, I worked with children and their siblings struggling with muscular dystrophy and dealing with cancer. It was extremely rewarding to help these children find and develop their community, while also taking part in their childhood apart from their medical challenges. Additionally, I have worked at CVS pharmacy, and I took part in an internship at Daiichi Sankyo, where I researched breast cancer, helped construct a medical information library, and approved grants for CMEs. Finally, I have done research into bacterial behavior and effector protein secretion of C. burnetii, which causes Q Fever. My team and I created an abstract for the Boston Bacterial Meeting 2022.

I believe that we live in a world where success and opportunity are unequally distributed. I want to take part in the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars (UST/AS) Program because I may not be able to fully reform a society that excessively rewards privilege, but that won’t stop me from fighting and advocating for each one of my future patients. I hope to carry what I learn in the UST/AS Program with me throughout my career, to learn how to navigate tough situations as a leader would, and to be an integral part of an interprofessional team.
