UConn School of Social Work

I was born in Hartford, Connecticut and raised in East Hartford, Connecticut. I have a Bachelor of Science in human services.

I currently work for the Center for Human Development, a non-profit organization that focuses on providing clients with a broad range of mental and clinical services. Using a person-centered approach, I help clients learn important life skills so that they can live successful, independent lives.

I sought involvement with Urban Services Track/AHEC Scholars Program because I want to learn those skills that will enhance my capacities and career in the social services field. The skills that I will learn from teachers and other members of the UST/AS Program will help me become a more effective professional better able to provide his patients with holistic, patient-centered care. I believe that in this day and age, healthcare should be provided to every individual, regardless of their socioeconomic status. I hope that, both during and after the UST/AS Program, I can continue to use my role in the social services to be an advocate for those people who lack access to affordable healthcare.
