Important Update on Your ConnectiCare Insurance Coverage

We’re committed to innovating, expanding, and maintaining financial health. Now, it’s time for health insurers like ConnectiCare to do their part. Join us in encouraging ConnectiCare to agree to a fair contract for both us and the people of Connecticut.
At UConn Health, our priority is providing high-quality care to our patients and community.
While we continue to negotiate in good faith toward a new agreement with ConnectiCare, they have shown little urgency to resolve this matter and have yet to present a proposal that fairly reflects the true cost of care we provide. Their delays have stalled meaningful progress, putting patients at risk of losing in-network access to UConn Health, including UConn Medical Group, if no agreement is reached before June 14.
Due to Connecticut’s mandatory “cooling-off” period, you will be able to continue to access care at in-network rates through June 14, 2025.
We remain committed to finding a resolution, but we also want to ensure you have the information you need to plan for your care.
ConnectiCare patients who receive behavioral health services are unaffected by this negotiation and can continue to use their behavioral health benefits as covered through Optum Behavioral Health.
What You Can Do
- Call ConnectiCare. Using the number on the back of your insurance card, call ConnectiCare directly and, with a sense of urgency, ask them to negotiate to protect your access to care—just as we are doing. Let ConnectiCare know how vital it is to have in-network access to your trusted providers at UConn Health.
- Apply for Continuity of Care benefits. If you are in an active course of treatment or already have a procedure scheduled, you may be eligible to continue receiving care at in-network rates beyond June 14. We urge you to contact ConnectiCare to ask about your options to start the waiver process.

Important: Emergency care is always covered at in-network rates. If you or a loved one experiences a medical emergency, please go to the nearest emergency room, including UConn John Dempsey Hospital.
