Neuromuscular Center

The Neuromuscular Center at UConn Health specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders that affect the peripheral nerves, muscles, or neuromuscular junction (where the neuron connects to the muscle). Using a comprehensive approach, our team of fellowship-trained physicians provides a full spectrum of diagnostic services including nerve conductions studies with electromyography (EMG), single fiber EMG, peripheral nerve MRI, compressive laboratory, genetic testing, nerve, muscle, or skin biopsies, and referrals for physical therapy, orthotic devices, or other services if needed.

We also have expertise in disorders of the autonomic nervous system that can cause such problems as the absence of sweating, blood pressure instability, unexplained fainting, and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). We diagnose these conditions in our state-of-the-art Autonomic Disorders Lab.
