Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology

For 50 years, UConn Health has been home to Connecticut's premier advanced dentomaxillofacial imaging center. We acquire and interpret thousands of radiologic examinations annually and provide continuing education to local, state, and national dental organizations on image selection criteria, image interpretation, equipment, and elements of safe radiologic imaging practices.

We offer state-of-the-art intraoral, panoramic, cephalometric, and Cone Beam CT imaging, including the acquisition of the images and complete, written interpretations of the examinations. Our radiologists are available for consultation in the design of imaging examinations, interpretation of images acquired outside the facility, and questions about the safe and effective design and equipping of general and specialist dental offices for imaging.

Our clinical imaging care, supported by our medically trained and licensed staff, our residency program, and our extensive research on the safety and efficacy of various imaging techniques, offers patients the highest quality imaging with minimal radiation exposures. Our Services

We offer complete, written interpretations for images taken on or off-site. Options include:

CBCT Scan Acquisition, Work-up, and Report

The patient is imaged in UConn School of Dental Medicine’s Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (OMFR) clinic, and a report is produced and delivered to the patient’s provider.

CBCT Work-up and Report Only

The patient is imaged in referring dental clinic, and the data is sent to the OMFR clinic.

2D Image Acquisition and Reporting

The patient is imaged in the OMFR clinic.

2D Image Report Only

The patient is imaged in referring dental clinic, and data is sent to the OMFR clinic.
