Education & Training
Medical Student Education
The Department of Psychiatry plays an active role in educating medical students across all four years of training. Current or rising third-year students with questions about the Psychiatry Clerkship should contact Dr. Mario Fahed, third-year Psychiatry Clerkship director, or the clerkship program coordinator, Ms. Tracy Drzyzga at 860-679-8917.
Residency and Fellowships
Grand Rounds
Psychiatry Grand Rounds lectures are presented on Fridays from 11 a.m. to noon during the academic year (September through June). The schedule posted lists dates, speakers, and the general topics. Titles and learning objectives for each lecture will be available approximately one week beforehand.
CME credit is only available to UConn Health or UConn Health-affiliated faculty and staff who meet the following criteria:
- View the webcast live.
- Complete an electronic evaluation distributed by the UConn Health CME office (sent as an email from MyEvaluations.com) within one week of receipt.
- If you do not receive an evaluation assignment from MyEvaluations.com within 10 business days of the presentation, contact sfreeman@uchc.edu to ensure that your MyEvaluations account is set up for future presentations.
Many but not all Grand Rounds lectures are viewable as a webcast. Note: off-line viewing of the webcast does not provide CME credit.
Psychosocial Occupational Therapy Affiliations
Psychosocial Level II Occupational Therapy (OT) students complete a 12 week affiliation usually during the summer. Students attend the inpatient Adult General Psychiatry Unit.
