Scheduling and Sample Submission
UConn Health has a new system for scheduling and sample submission for Research Cores at the following links:
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility
The NMR Facility provides a state-of-the-art environment for studying the structure, dynamics, folding, and interactions of biological macromolecules. The primary goal of the facility is the application of advanced NMR techniques to important and challenging biomedical problems. To meet these challenges, facility staff develop new methods to enhance and facilitate bio-molecular applications of NMR. In addition to providing access to state-of-the-art instrumentation for experienced users, the facility provides support for new users interested in bio-molecular applications of NMR.
Biophysical Core Facility and Protein Production Services
The biophysical core facility provides state-of-the-art instruments for protein characterization including circular dichroism (CD) for monitoring secondary structure and protein stability, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) for measuring the kinetics of biomolecule interactions, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) for measuring the thermodynamics of biomolecule interactions, and fluorescence spectroscopy for probing proteins under different conditions and monitoring ligand interactions. The core also maintains fermentation equipment and a robot used in cell free protein expression and provides custom protein production and purification for both unlabelled and labelled proteins suitable for structural studies or biological assays.
