Triny Gutierrez

UConn School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2019

I was born and grew up in Bradenton, Florida. I received my B.S. in Biology at Emory University in Atlanta in 2015. During my time as an undergraduate in Atlanta, I served as a volunteer dental assistant at the Ben Massell Free Dental Clinic.

I sought involvement in UST because it is my life’s mission is to provide healthcare to underserved communities. I believe the opportunity to work with like-minded healthcare professionals that UST provides will help me gain experience to help me achieve my goal of serving all the healthcare needs of neglected communities. Growing up in an immigrant Latino community mired in poverty has given me the knowledge of the necessity of healthcare in underserved communities. UST will provide me the opportunity to gain further exposure necessary for working to lessen the adversities such communities face today.
