I was born and raised in East Hartford, Connecticut, and have a Bachelor of Arts in urban and community studies. I am currently employed at the East Hartford Public Library and at the Re-entry Welcome Center for Community Partners in Action.

I sought involvement in the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars Program in order to work in healthcare with people who are struggling with their mental health and their day-to-day lives. Stigmas around poor mental health abound in our society; I would like to alter peoples’ perceptions and approaches to their own mental health needs as well as those of others.
