Sandhya Sanapala

I was born in Norwood, Massachusetts, and spent most of my childhood in Waukegan, Illinois. I currently live in Farmington, Connecticut. I have a B.S. in Allied Health Sciences.

Through volunteering at Bristol Hospital and working as a certified nurse assistant in Farmington, I have gained experience working with individuals of different backgrounds from my own. I have also come to see how socioeconomic factors like environment, income, and education impact health care. I want to become involved in the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars (UST/AS) Program because I want to gain even more experience working in underserved communities and to understand how interprofessional teams can implement maximally effective health care.
