Omar Afifi

UConn School of Dental Medicine

I was born in Cairo, Egypt, and raised there until the age of 13, when I immigrated to New Milford, CT. I graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry in 2024.

My community service involvement during my undergrad years was primarily focused on creating more opportunities for underserved students in local public schools in hopes of increasing the chances of them pursuing higher education. I worked with local nonprofit organizations and my institution to invite students to campus at no cost to them. I also worked in the Admissions Office as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion intern.

My involvement in UST/AS will serve as a continuation of my community service experiences during my undergraduate years. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, I hope to develop the skills that will allow me to provide holistic dental care to underserved populations.
