Niti Bidja
Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program
I was born in New Haven, Connecticut but was raised in Gujarat, India before moving back to Connecticut when I was 6 years old. I stayed in Connecticut and grew up to be the first member of my family to enter a health-related profession. I attended Quinnipiac University where I obtained a Bachelors of Health Science with a minor in biomedical science. I am also a certified CNA, EMT, and COVID-19 Immunizer.
Prior to PA School, I worked as an Emergency Department Technician at Hartford Hospital and a COVID-19 Vaccinator at Griffin Health’s Mobile Vaccinations clinics. I currently volunteer at BAPS Charities in Newington, Connecticut, a nonprofit organization with multiple centers throughout North America. I am especially involved in planning and fundraising for walkathons, blood drives, vaccine clinics, and summer and winter camps.
I sought involvement in Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars (UST/AS) Program to gain a better understanding of how I can help vulnerable populations overcome the challenges they face in obtaining access to primary care, OBGYN care, and psychiatric care. I am also excited to learn how to collaborate with and succeed alongside of professionals from other disciplines to enhance the fluidity of the teams I will work with in my career. Overall, the UST/AS Program will best prepare me for primary care and how to advocate for changes in health policies.
