Natalie Davidson
Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program
I was born and raised in Tuxedo, NY, and graduated from Williams College with a degree in biology with a neuroscience concentration. Prior to PA school, I was an EMT in the city of Albany, NY, and a neuroscience research assistant investigating treatments for neonatal opioid withdrawal and adult opioid use disorder. My volunteer experience includes organizing an annual winter weatherization program providing free services to low-income and elderly residents of Western Massachusetts, offering health education to adolescents, and providing in-hospital patient companionship.
As an EMT working with a largely underserved patient population, I began to see in practice that the most effective form of healthcare is that which operates with full awareness of a patient’s living situation, access to resources, and social support. I am interested in the UST/AS program as a bridge between my formal PA education and that informal education I received as an EMT. I intend to use my experience to provide high-quality, context-aware care to underserved patients because healthcare is a fundamental human right. Also, in anticipation of a highly collaborative career as a PA, I look forward to working in an interdisciplinary team and learning from my peers in other healthcare career paths.
