Mary Cearley
School of Medicine, Class of 2016
I was born and raised in Stamford, Conn. I earned my B.S. in Biology from the University of Virginia and have previously volunteered as an EMT for Western Albemarle Rescue Squad in Charlottesville, Va. and Global Medical and Dental Brigades in Panama. Interdisciplinary medicine is the future of healthcare and essential for optimal patient care. The Urban Service Track facilitates collaboration between many healthcare fields and I hope to gain knowledge from my peers through our service to vulnerable populations in Connecticut. I sought involvement in UST in order to partake in collaborative healthcare and to use the skills and knowledge I have had the privilege of obtaining to help indigent populations. UST embodies teamwork and humanistic medicine in a way that reflects what I hope my career in medicine will achieve.
