I was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey and raised in Madison, Connecticut. I graduated from Dartmouth College in 2017 with a major in neuroscience and a minor in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies.
My first year out of college was spent with City Year Boston, an education based non-profit dedicated to providing additional resources to underserved communities and to closing the education gap and. Serving with City Year sparked my desire to work as a physician with the medically underserved. I have spent the last year working as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department at Bristol Hospital, which helped me develop an appreciation for each role on the healthcare team and that role’s function in patient care.
I am passionate about providing excellent healthcare for each individual, and believe the best way to achieve this goal is to center medically underserved communities in our discussions of improving healthcare systems. I believe that, by improving healthcare for the most marginalized, we can improve healthcare for all. I hope to work with medically underserved communities as a physician, and to supplement the traditional functions of a physician with the development of educational programs for healthcare professionals to improve the quality of care they provide to vulnerable populations.
