Katherine Pierce

School of Pharmacy

I grew up in East Haven, Connecticut. I graduated from UCONN in 2022 with a B.S. in pharmacy studies and am now completing my Pharm D. at the UCONN School of Pharmacy, which I will complete in 2024. 

I have volunteered my whole life, but I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine after volunteering at the West Haven VA Hospital during high school. While I did not provide medical care, I did interact with patients while manning the information desk, playing piano in the lobby and recreation center, and providing transportation around the hospital. I currently work as a pharmacy intern at Yale New Haven Health and am a board member for the South Park Inn clinic, where we provide free medical care to homeless patients in Hartford, Connecticut. I want to join the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars (UST/AS) Program to gain more experience and skills providing medical care to underserved populations so that I can provide such care in my future career as a pharmacist.
