UConn School of Nursing
I was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut.
I have interned at the Yale New Haven Cancer Disparities Firewall Project and the Smilow Cancer Screening and Prevention Program, where I had the opportunity to work with underserved populations and to translate crucial information about the importance of cancer screening and primary prevention. I have also participated in community health fairs, where I learned about many of the barriers that individuals face in our labyrinthine healthcare system.
Through the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholar (UST/AS) Program, I will gain skills and resources needed to provide excellent care to my future patients. I aspire to become a primary care nurse practitioner who deals primarily with underserved populations. The UST/AS Program will give me the opportunity to explore deeply the problems that marginalized populations face in health care, and to help solve these problems.
